Airtel Customers Get 24x7 Emergency Alert Service

Airtel customers can now 10 of their closest family and friends in times of need in just one go. Bharti Airtel has rolled out the 24X7 emergency alert service for its customers, which can come handy during natural calamity and medical emergency.It means that Airtel mobile customers can now send an alert with their geographic location to their closest 10 loved ones simultaneously with just a call. This idea behind this service is to facilitate an access to easy and quick help. Subscribers can even send a ‘SAFE’ SMS indication to a pre-defined group of 10 family members and friends and keep them informed of their well-being especially when out alone and during any natural calamity or disaster with just one click.


Airtel is the first operator in the country to provide such a service. The telecom operator expects the service to find easy adoption by various customer segments including, teenagers, working women, retired population and migrant workers. According to a press statement released by the company, this service is a great way to stay connected with friends and families during natural calamities such as tsunami, earthquake, cyclone or disasters like fire and accidents. In addition to providing assurance of safety of the sender, it can also be used to seek help round the clock.


Here's how you can use this service:

1. Activation.

2. Activate service by dialing 55100 and follow menu options. You will be charged INR 30/- for 30 days.

3. Identify your closest 10 loved ones by adding their number by messaging START , , up to 10 numbers.

4. Inform them of your safety.

5. SMS SAFE to 55100 to reassure loved ones that you are safe.

6. Send an emergency alert.

7. When in an emergency and unable to talk, give a call to 55100. Your family will receive voice and SMS alerts with your location details.

8. Need help urgently and cannot decide whom to call? SMS HELP to 55100 and send alert to all your closest 10 loved ones.
